Beach House Homewares Stunner

Well Hello

As I have said many times dear reader, I am ensconced in paradise up here on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia.  You only need refer back to some of my scenery shots, ( click here for that)  to know where I am coming from.  Up here in our little corner of beachy heaven, we are lucky not only to be exposed to the sun’s rays on a daily basis, but also to the most ab fab, funky home wares stores on the planet.  OK, I know some of you will disagree.  But I am here to change your mind.

Those of you who have been following along, will already know of my three great interior loves. French, nautical and vintage.  Well today’s featured home wares store has them all.   Quite honestly, the store had me at  "Hello". Jump into these gorgeous shots from my absolute top of the list, fave store here in Avalon, RUST.

Now I am calling this the blue section of my post.  You couldn’t get more nautical if you tried, with these pops of colour.  That boat is what I would call a real statement piece.  Looks like it belongs moored somewhere off a Greek Island in the Med.  It would look great as a conversation piece on any mantle or side table.

The mirror, the bells, candles and shell balls, every thing just screams out ‘I wanna come home with you’.  Or at least that’s what I am hearing, when I do my weekly walk through of this place

Liz Browning,  Rust's co owner, with husband Michael, just puts it all together so beautifully.  I love that gorgeous model in brimmed hat, set against the blue shutters.

Michael primarily sources and restores the vintage stock, whilst Liz runs the store.

That beautiful mirror appeals to me and the handbag in green with splashes of pink...... stunning.

Pops of colour everywhere, expressed in jewellery, flowers and candles.

The eclectic pieces are so original and interesting, that RUST often provides props for movie sets.  One such example was the movie Australia, staring those fabulous local actors known round theses parts as ‘Our Nic’ and ‘Our Hugh’.

There are tram rolls,

stunning Australian wild life,

fabulous lighting

and a gorgeous mix of vintage, and repro 'must haves'.

The textural layering of this store has to be seen to be believed.

Well my lovelies, I will continue this beautiful story Monday, there is just way too much eye candy in my photo file for one day.  So if you are a Sydneysider and you want to fill in a day, join us down here in paradise, you won't be disappointed.  Bring your surfboard and loose the shoes.

Stop by on Monday for 'Rust, the sequel'. Beautiful blue glass, more shells, great lighting, floral ideas and much much more.

Until then, serious home makers
Lots O' Love

  7. I love your blog my friend, so nice! Thank you so much for the info...it's not a small house at all with 5 bedrooms! Just wanted to satisfy my curiosity, as here in Ecuador we have gorgeous beaches too and a home like that may cost around $250 to $300 at the most! YES! SORRY FOR NOT TELLING YOU ABOUT THE SALAD...unfortunatelly I didn't find rabbit easily and so I did it with chicken and everyone loved it! and I did too. Thank you again my friend.
