Coastal Yummy Mummy in the House

Hi Gals
Last Saturday I told you about an ab fab garage sale that I went to at  my friend Lisa's place. She was selling some of her furniture and props because she is, awaiting the build of her beautiful Walta Barda designed home.  He is a favourite of everyones in these part and I can't wait to see the results.

He has wisely said that, when he does a rebuild, he is happy to be replacing a little of the Northern Beaches history. He is very pleased, when one of the brick veneer homes, is replaced by a timber cottage. He has said  "I often think... Oh that's great, we have put one back."
So whilst all those in the know await the reveal of Lisa's new home, in the mean time she has allowed me to give you a sneak peak into some of the other renovation and styling projects, she has undertaken.

Firstly, the beach side cottage, complete with lovely guest accommodation.

Simple and elegant prop placement, with most of the furniture sourced from garage sales and thrift shops. From this shot, you can see that a 'mixing it up' strategy can be used to great effect.  Note the bedside tables and mixed sources of lighting on each table.

There's that lovely blanket box, Lisa was selling last weekend in her 'instant' living room.

Of course I' m a sucker for 'beach house blue', as anyone who read yesterday's post would know.  Lisa has styled the bookshelves inside, with toys and nautical elements.  There's that little vintage toy cash register, that I bought on Saturday, at the bottom of the shelves.  Lucky me.

The second house Lisa has allowed me to show you, was on the bay side of the same area as the beach side cottage.  It is north facing and has a lovely sunny view.

That deck made it into my deck series last week.

Again, Lisa mixes it up with salvaged dining chairs very successfully.

That built in seating opposite the island bench is great for a guest who wants to chat while the hostess prepares away in the kitchen.  It also makes a great storage area.

In my post about Lisa's garage sale, I said that she was my 'go to girl' with all matters 'home'. Now you can see why. Can't wait until the Walta Barda is revealed.  Hopefully she'll let me do a story on that one as well.

Well, gals I've got 5 words for ya.  Yummy mummy in the house.  That, she surely is.

See ya tomorrow
