A Beautiful Coastal Vintage Home in Shades of Aqua

Hello Beach Dwellers
Are you ready for a little shot on the arm of coastal vintage style?
Today it is my absolute pleasure to introduce to you Tania Maree from Scandi Coast Home. A lovely girl with a beautiful home, who began her blogging journey this year. I adore her coastal vintage abode and as you well know, I think aqua blue is just about the prettiest colour for styling a coastal home.
.................

Hi I'm Tania Maree from Scandi Coast Home. I live in Newcastle on the East Coast of NSW, a city 2 hours drive north of Sydney.
I'm 37 years old, although I probably look a bit like I ran the whole way. Don't be fooled by my profile picture ......it's in soft focus......and I may or may not have been halfway through a bottle of Champers......

I'm a stay at home Mum of two......an 11yr old boy and a 9yr old girl. We have a gorgeous cat called Sooty. He's the fluffiest domestic short hair cat you've ever seen. He has a big feather duster tail like a squirrel and bunny rabbit feet......

It was so lovely of Carolyn to invite me over for a chat and to let me show you around my place......

I've been invited over  this morning, to share with you my own little slice of the Coast. (She doesn't know it yet but while she's boiling the kettle I'm sneaking out the back door with her magnificent Tea Chest, you know the one).

My husband and I built our house (well, we watched while the builder did all the work) nearly three years ago. It's a simple white beach shack style weatherboard with a bright Caribbean Blue front door. There will soon be a white cast iron Pineapple door knocker on the front door as the ultimate welcome.

I will be oversharing that with you as soon as it arrives......

We designed our house for how we live and only built the rooms we would actually use. It's a very simple design although it does have gorgeous clerestory windows right through the centre of the house which makes the central hallway so light and bright. The room I spend the most time in is probably the kitchen which has a walk in pantry and a huge island bench......you'd think I'd be a much more enthusiastic cook than I am......when I do cook I cook with gorgeous vintage kitchen wares......like vintage scales and retro pyrex mixing bowls. I have too many of everything although it's all stored and displayed in an orderly fashion......

The Dining Room

The Family Room

The Master Bedroom

My favourite interiors are the ones that reflect the personality of the owners and have been decorated with a combination of new and vintage. I believe a home should be a place where you combine all the things you love in the best way you possibly can. I'm not a big fan of overly expensive designer homes. Whilst they are lovely to look at, they sometimes lack genuine appeal......for me anyway. I might think differently if I had bucket loads of money......

I want to say a big thank you to Carolyn. It was so lovely of her to invite me over for a chat and to let me show you around my place......and for the Tea Chest.
Well, that's it from me here at Scandi Coast Home......you're all invited to come over here and say HeLLo anytime.

Have a great day!!!

Tania Maree xx

  13. Lovely house - warm, welcoming, coastal but not themey. Love the shelving in your family room with those beautiful colours, the whole house says beachy and summery and easy living, but without screaming it. Lovely to have a walk through your home. Thanks for sharing.
