Shopping and Dining at Peregian Beach

If you are after a fabulous shopping and dining experience on your next trip to Noosa, you would do well to consider, Peregian Beach.  Encircling a cute little village square, the commercial centre of Peregian Beach is reminiscent of the Noosa Heads of old.  Rub shoulders with Peregian Beach locals, for an authentic and eclectic Sunshine Coast experience.

My pick for interesting and colourful homewares is Summer & Salt.  I am in love with the pink chandelier. What a statement piece that would be, over an island bench or dining table.  My Little Miss was very taken with the peacock chair.  They also have a great online store with some incredibly priced swimwear et al.

Otilly & Lewis, also very vibrant, is great for coastal outdoor fabrics and I particularly liked that they offer deck chair and directors chair fabric, cut to size.

Made up, these cushions are gorgeous all thrown in together

Carmel's Designs and Homewares offers a more rustic approach, offering a beautiful range of coral and some gorgeous classic fashion.

My absolute favourite was French and Gorgeous with a beautiful mix of vintage in excellent condition.  Unfortunately, the store was closed on Mondays, which was when I went back to Peregian to have a better look.  Oh well, there will always be a next time for the Sunshine Coast and I.

On my first visit to French and Gorgeous, I was way laid, because I bumped in to well known artist, Kerri Shipp from Driftwood Interiors, which was completely ironic, because hers was the first blog I ever landed on.  When I discovered Kerri online, I didn't even know what a blog was.

Kerri approached me in front of French and Gorgeous, which was very sweet of her to bother.  We had a lovely long chat about blogging and her experience with Martha Stewart.  Yes Martha loves her artwork too.

Another store, which has a rustic approach to homewares is Finders Keepers, with many French and Classic American inspired pieces.

Peregian Beach also boasts a really stunning florist, White Magnolia, which has some very cute ideas.  The flowers were divine.  Any store that uses vintage ladders as shelving, raises my interest.

There is also an Op Shop at Peregian Beach, which is part of the Endeavour Foundation.  I made my best purchases here.  Two pairs of brand new wedding shoes.  No, I don't have any news. I just love bling bling on my shoes.  Also a stunning handbag and all for under $40.  I couldn't believe it when they had my shoe size.  You probably heard me squealing with joy from Queensland.

And finally the Romantic, which was lovely inside, but photography was not allowed.

Across the way from the Romantic and a new addition to the Peregian Beach Shopping Village, was Love Shack Dumplings.  I have no idea, what the dumplings are like, because it wasn't open yet, (it has now though) but if the styling is anything to go by, it will be fabulous.  Black and white is so smart and with a touch of yellow thrown in, fabulous.  They also have an ice cream bar, an essential element of any menu, in Sunny Queensland.

Skal Coffee was a very well patronised establishment.  The coffee there has been described as, the best on the Sunshine Coast.  They had some lovely gourmet food products on offer as well.

I did eat at Baked Poetry Cafe, a German cafe and delicatessen.  The crowd of locals gathered here, gives a hint that it's really good.  Apart from the interesting European pastries and breads, they have great salads, which were perfect for a light lunch, on a hot January day.  With it's shaded outdoor area overlooking the square, this is a really enjoyable spot for a pit stop.

The next time I visited Peregian Beach, we ate at the raw bar across the road from the village square and they have a really fresh and healthy menu.

There are  also some lovely choices for dinner at Peregian Beach, which were closed when we were there during the day.  My mum's best friend lives at Perigian Beach and I am so very glad she introduced us to it, as it is definitely worth a visit.

Peregian Beach is just a short (about 15 minutes) drive south, down David Low Way from Noosa. Here is a map for directions.

  3. Sssshhhhh Carolyn! Don't tell everybody. We don't want everyone to know about this well kept secret on the Sunshine Coast. Looks lovely though and I must pay another visit there soon. Beautiful photos as always.
