Spring Orchids

As my mother handed these beautiful orchids to me, freshly cut from her almost Spring garden, she said. "You know I think these orchids could win a prize."  And she was not wrong.

Mum certainly has a green thumb and her garden is beginning to look splendid in anticipation of Spring.  The orange bush orchids, she grew from a cutting I gave her and the splash of colour against the most unusual green orchids, is quite striking.

A few strelitzia leaves popped in the back, for a bit of height and I have a lovely Spring bouquet, which will probably last for weeks. These blooms have certainly lifted the living room some what.

I am trying out my new little happy snapper camera and I'm pretty happy with the quality of the shots.  I am tossing up whether to lug my big DSLR around Europe, or just to use this little one.  What do you think?  I'm actually leaning to the side of convenience and thinking I'll just take this one.

Have you lugged a big camera around on a holiday and struggled with it?  I'd love to know how you managed.

Have a great week Beach Dwellers.

  1. Gorgeous. I really need to have fresh flowers in our house. It really adds something to your décor doesn't it? And lifts your spirits.
