A Beach House with a View on Sydney's Northern Beaches

Study Space Make Over


I have been concentrating on all things high school over the last two weeks, so Desire Empire has taken a back seat.

One part of getting ready, was spending more on my son's school uniform, than I would ever dare to spend on a wardrobe for myself.  Accordingly, there was not much left to create a workable study space in the Beach House Brat's bedroom.

Of course a visit to Paris should involve all the usual suspects in terms of tourist attractions, but sometimes it is great to go a little bit off the beaten track and make like a local.  Here is a list of quirky and interesting things to do in Paris which are definitely worth it.  Some are easy on the euro as well.  My attitude to life these days is not about accumulating more stuff, but accumulating more wonderful experiences in my memory bank.  So the more affordable the experience, the more I can have of them in a city.

Prosciutto, Tomato and Feta Pies with Basil and Zucchini Christmas 2014


Our Christmas 2014 seemed to have come and gone very quickly this year.  Perhaps because of the significant birthday party distractions for Mr Beach House, or as a consequence of the Sydney cafe siege.  Either way, it didn't feel much like Christmas, but I went through the motions as a mother must always do and that seemed to work, as it turned out to be very enjoyable Christmas, even if it was a bit of a blur.
