I love the irony around the Historic Houses of Hobart. Tasmania has not always had the economic opportunities of the states on the mainland of Australia, thus forcing it to retain alot of it's old buildings through necessity. That concept has paid dividends and meant that Tassie has a plethora of heritage listed buildings and streetscapes. As a lover of history and houses, a city like Hobart is paradise to someone like me. Take a look. I trust you will be inspired.

I love the little cottages. They seem to be so close to the roads. They are all so different.
ReplyDeleteThese houses are gorgeous! I do so love older architecture. I wish more of it had been retained in Brisbane and Sydney. xx
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful are these buildings. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love love love beautiful architecture. I'm on the south coast of NSW at the moment and there are some gorgeous houses down here too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at all the old houses in Adelaide as well. There is something so magical about them.
Just another reason why I would love to move to Tassie (or at least visit it again!) ...
ReplyDeleteVisiting today from #teamIBOT x
I actually hadn't ever realised we had all our old beautiful building because we aren't well off here that's actually pretty funny. Thank goodness! It's weird seeing all of these homes I know so well on your blog! I always admire these same ones. Especially the last one you put up, my partner and I always talk about that one when we go past.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful buildings! Thank you for sharing these. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYes! I remember admiring the houses when I was last there. I am a huge lover of old buildings and live in an almost 100 year old queensland workers cottage myself.
ReplyDeleteLovely! A lot of these remind me of where I live, Geelong in Victoria. My house is circa 1901. Our street is like a set from The Sullivans.

Simply beautiful. I live on the Gold Coast where we wouldn't know heritage if it smacked us in the face. Love these old buildings and homes.
ReplyDeleteI love old houses although sometimes I'm worried they may be haunted. Some of them just have a haunted look at night I think, but I'm still intrigued by them.
