Beach Cottage Love and Inspiration

Hello Beach Dwellers

Yesterday as I dropped the Beach House Brat off for a play date in on of these gorgeous cottages, it occurred to me that we hadn't had any posts on here about Beach Cottages lately.  It was like a Summers day here in Sydney yesterday, so I grabbed my camera, sourced my favourites and found myself leaning over strangers' fences.

There is lots of inspiration here on how to dress the entrance to your home.  If it's window trims, picket fences with sandstone inserts, carports,  screen doors  or just how to style your porch that you are after, this is the post for  you. As renovation seems to be an Australian national sport, there are many works in progress to show you at a later date too.  I give you the classic Australian Beach Cottage !!!!!  Enjoy!!!

I'll show you the inside of one of these Beach Cottages next week, as it's on the market and we have pictures.

In the mean time have a wonderful weekend.  I hope yours is warm and fruitful.

Today I am linked up here

  7. The first one is my absolute favourite house in that part of your neck of the woods! We eat breakfast at the cafe nearby quite often and every time we go I stalk that house. I LOVE the vintage plane toy that they have on the deck. xx

    1. Yes Leah and Emma the first one is my absolute favourite too. They have completely done their own thing here and it just all works, including the vintage. I think I'd pay to see inside this one.

    2. Maybe we should go and knock on the door! I got caught stalking the house once by friends of the owners and had a chat with the friends, they claimed the owner would love that I loved the house and encouraged me to come with them to say hello but I chickened out. Big mistake! x

  13. There are so many fabulous beach houses in your area, and that last one I drove past the other week, coming back from Palmie and took a photo for Instagram. Love it, especially with that sandstone. Some lovely homes here.

  14. Hi, Carolyn!
I love them! SO nice and CLEAN, you know? I am having a hard time with the front of my house.
First I cleaned it all out and put bark mulch all over. So now it is too bare and too brown...
Slowly I am planting but I am not much of a gardener so I don't want lots of stuff.
I loved these houses because they use lots of green, it seems not so high maintenance.
    Thanks for sharing!!!

  15. There is definitely a grey theme happening here in Sydney - I wonder is it taking off elsewhere? Which one was your fave? I have to confess that the one with the umbrella by the front door makes me feel the most as if I'm on holiday, but no. 35 looks really intersting, and I wouldn't half mind spending time at the first one on the list! :)
Enjoy Wednesday and Thursday - they are going for 23 Deg. Wooo!

  16. The first one is my favourite. And you are right about the grey thing. The colour is Dune which is a colour bond coLour. The white trim I like is Fair Bianca.
