Hello Desirables
Hope your start to 2013 was fabulous and that the remainder of the year is good to you.
Today we are talking tables, red and white tables.
Owing to the fact that I went very neutral with my Christmas mantel and ladder this year. I decided to throw a bit of red and white into the mix for our Christmas eve feast.
I used some left over Christmas paper for the table runner, which is an affordable way to add layering to your decorating and for $3 or so a roll at the local $2 store, this is a great way to change out your table decorating. I used brown paper last year layered with beachy foliage and white flowers and shells, which was beautiful.
This year I tied some strips of Christmas fabric around some tin buckets, which I filled with white flowers from the garden.
With some nautical stripe napkins tied with shells and twine and few bon bons to remind us that is was actually Christmas, I give you my simple Christmas red and white table. Apart from the bon bons, this could be a table for any occasion.
Up next.... what we ate on Christmas eve. A simple but impressive affair which would be great for your next dinner party.

Very cheery and fun! I like your idea of using wrapping paper as a runner...have to try that! This would be a cute table for Valentines Day, too!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2013!
XO,
Jane
It all looks gorgeous Hun as I would totally expect from you. I saw you have been gallivanting around Pittwater too. We have been doing the same thing so I'm sorry we didn't run in to you guys. Anyways Hapy New Year and I hope the year ahead brings you everything you ever imagined and oped for. Thankyou for all your support and most importantly your gorgeous friendship.xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the red and white Carolyn. My son wants a Star Wars room now and I've been thinking of a couple of projects that require spray paint so I remembered your giveaway. I'm off to enter. Happy New Year my love.

I totally agree with blondie. Great idea for Christmas and Valentine's day!
ReplyDeleteI totally love that tablescape. Very Christmassy!

Looks lovely! My 2 biggest boys set the table for our celebration and I said to make it pretty and Christmassy and they did a fantastic job- but I forgot to take a photo!
ReplyDeleteLovely. And such pretty flowers from the garden.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful table! Love the ladder 'tree' and the table runner- an inexpensive way to dress the table- and you can mix it up each year, rather than investing in Christmas linen which you feel obligated to reuse.
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh! I did a red and white table too! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I hope that you will consider joining in for Fresh-Cut Friday. This is a darling post! :)
Happy New Year!

What a brilliant idea with the wrapping paper! Love the twinkly ladder in the background too.
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful looking setting. My mum would LOVE to have her table like this, but with my 3 cherubs always destroying things she wouldn't have a chance!
ReplyDeleteI just visited and became a follower of your blog! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the ladder! Would love for you to visit and follow my blog Maddiebella Home as well. I'm new to the blogging world.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

Hi Carolyn, Great idea using Christmas paper on the table. Thanks for sharing your pretty tablescape at the Open House party. xx, Sherry
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteLove red and white; polka dots are a favourite. Your pretty table is set for loveliness! Striking and savvy! Thanks for my red and white fix!
